Description

The undead are among us and livelier than ever when Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and a talented group of young-bloods star in Interview with the Vampire, the spellbinding screen adaptation of Anne Rice's best seller that's "one the best films of the year" (Caryn James, The New York Times). Award-winning box-office favorite Cruise stylishly plays the supremely evil and charismatic vampire Lestat. Pitt is Louis, lured by Lestat into the immortality of the damned, then tormented by an unalterable fact of vampire life: to survive, he must kill. Stephen Rea, Antonio Banderas, Christian Slater and newcomer Kirsten Dunst also star. One lifetime alone offers plenty of opportunities for the savage revelries of the night. Imagine what an eternity can bring. Hypnotically directed by Neil Jordan (The Crying Game), Interview with the Vampire offers enough thrills, shocks and fiendish fun to last a lifetime...and beyond.

When it was announced that Tom Cruise would play the vampire Lestat in this adaptation of Anne Rice's bestselling novel, even Rice chimed in with a highly publicized objection. The author wisely and justifiably recanted her negative opinion when she saw Cruise's excellent performance, which perceptively addresses the pain and chronic melancholy that plagues anyone cursed with immortal bloodlust. Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst are equally good at maintaining the dark and brooding tone of Rice's novel. And in this rare mainstream project for a major studio, director Neil Jordan compensates for a lumbering plot by honoring the literate, Romantic qualities of Rice's screenplay. Considered a disappointment while being embraced by Rice's loyal followers, the movie is too slow to be a satisfying thriller, but it is definitely one of the most lavish, intelligent horror films ever made. --Jeff Shannon

A walk in the dark past
Review date: 2010-07-19 Rating: 8 out of 10

I bought this movie also for my Daughter as she requested. I like the two stars acting ability. In this yester year fantasy you could see the conflict of emotions. I did feel that there was alot more that could have been done with the story without all the bloody details. After all everyone knows what vampires do.

Interview with a vampire
Review date: 2010-07-08 Rating: 10 out of 10

This is a clasic vampire
story of love, desire,
loneliness, greed,
anger, sadness and
every other emotion in it.
It features famous
actors like Brad Pitt,
Tom Cruiz, Antonio
Bandaras, Christian
Slader and a very young
Kirstan Dunst. Christian
Slader plays a reporter
who interviews the
vampire Lestat, (played
by Cruiz). Lestat tells his
life story and
adventures of his dark
world as a vampire,
while intriged yet
unconvinced Slader
records his story. Lestat
is lonely and fastinated
with a young wealthy
man (Pitt) who after the
death of his wife, has
nothing to loose and no
longer enjoys life.
Perhaps Lestat can give
a better life for the
empty Pitt.... An older
clasic with class and
hidden humor. Enjoy!!

Its maybe better than DVD but Blu Ray...not the best

At first I thought I had problems with my TV or PS3 but for Blu ray it dosent seem that vivid. I bought it at Target for $10 so not disappointed....much I love the movie but the quality seems not the best compared to Edward Scissor hands wow thats worth the purchase.

Good movie...Great buy!

I recently purchased a blu-ray system and the ability to watch one of my favorite movies on it was great. I received my product in a timely manner and would use this seller again.
